Screen Door Repair

Most of the screen calls we run around Palm Bay do not need a brand new door. The frame is still straight and the corners are still tight, but the mesh has been chewed by the family dog, popped by a kid, or torn open by a windstorm coming off the canals. Re-screen the original frame, swap the worn rollers and the bottom guide, and that slider is good for another five or six summers.

When the frame has gone out of square or the rollers are seized in the channel, we move over to a full replacement, but that is the exception more than the rule.

Benefits

Benefits of a Screen Door Repair

Why repair beats replace on most Palm Bay screen doors:

  • Frame stays in place, so the existing track and casing alignment is preserved
  • Pet-resistant mesh for canal-front homes with dogs running the dock
  • No-see-um mesh that actually blocks the small bugs coming off the lagoon
  • Roller and bottom guide swap restores the glide on lanai sliders
  • Latch and pull replacement so the screen stays closed against canal-side wind
  • Free written quote before any spline or mesh comes off the frame

Why Us

Why Choose Sliding Door Repair Palm Bay?

A lot of folks try the big-box screen door first and end up with something that does not quite fit. Frames warp on the trip home, the rollers do not match the original track, and pre-built doors almost never line up with the older houses in town. We measure the opening, then either source the right unit or build one to spec so it actually slides like it should.

  • Standard sliding screen sizes in stock
  • Custom-built frames for non-standard openings
  • Multiple mesh options: standard fiberglass, pet-resistant, no-see-um
  • Roller, latch, and pull replacement on existing units that don't need full replacement
  • Free estimates
  • Local Palm Bay team
Important

When Re-Screening Beats Full Replacement

If the frame is straight and the rollers still glide, re-screening is the cheaper way to go. We pull the old mesh, clean out the spline channel, and roll in fresh mesh tight so it does not sag through the next summer.

If the frame is warped, the corners are cracked, or the rollers are seized in the channel, a full replacement is the move. We will look at the door with you and let you know which makes more sense.

Our Screen Door Process
Our Process

Our Screen Door Process

Every screen door visit follows the same flow:

  • Measure opening: width, height, and roller channel depth
  • Quote re-screen vs full replacement based on frame condition
  • Source standard size or custom-build to fit
  • Replace rollers, latch, and pull handle on the new or rebuilt door
  • Install in opening, adjust roller height for smooth glide
  • Test slide, latch, and seal before walking through with the homeowner

Can I keep the existing frame and just get new mesh? +
Yes if the frame is straight and the corners are solid. We re-screen it on-site for less than a full replacement.
What's the toughest mesh you offer? +
Pet-resistant mesh holds up to dogs and cats far better than standard fiberglass. We also stock no-see-um mesh for tiny insects.
Can you build a screen door for an older opening that doesn't have a standard size? +
Yes. We measure the opening and build a frame that fits the existing channel and rollers.
How long does the work take? +
Re-screening is usually 30 to 60 minutes. Full replacement of a standard slider is 60 to 90 minutes including roller adjustment.
Do you offer free estimates? +
Yes. Free quote on every screen door job. Call (321) 325-1744.
